Here at the University Scholars we are a creative bunch. With this in mind, I asked our Scholars to work with me on an artistic assignment during late winter. Drawing inspiration from the work of the conceptual artist Douglas Huebler and his Location Piece #2 (1969), I asked the Scholars to photograph one or more places that they felt could be characterized as 1) frightening, 2) erotic, 3) transcendent, 4) passive, 5) fevered, and 6) muffled. Here are the images I collected from a number of Scholars. Which one, do you think, is which?
