There are a number of locations close to campus (either by walking or public transit) where you can purchase living supplies, toiletries, medicine, and groceries. Below you will find a list of locations and directions. They are ordered by proximity to campus.
Wollaston’s Market: Wollaston’s is a grocery store and deli with two locations close to campus. Options are limited, but if you only need a few groceries, medical supplies, or cleaning supplies this should be your first option.
- On campus location: Wollaston’s West Village, 460 Parker Street, Boston
- Alternative location (larger store, better selection): Wollaston’s Market, 369 Huntington Avenue. This is located right next to the Marino Recreation Center on Huntington Avenue.
CVS Pharmacy: Located at 231 Massachusetts Ave, Boston it is a 5-15 minute walk away from campus.
Whole Foods Grocery, Symphony: Located at 15 Westland Avenue, this is the closet grocery store to campus. Only a 5-15 minute walk away.
Trader Joe’s, Back Bay: Located at 899 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. Trader Joe’s is either a 15-25 minute walk away. As for public transit, you could take the 39 bus route directly from Northeastern University (on Huntington Avenue) towards Back Back to the Boylston stop opposite Gloucester Street. Alternatively, you can take the Green Line-E Branch from the Northeastern University stop towards Lechmere to Copley station (then Trader Joe’s is a 5-10 minute walk away).
Stop & Shop, Mission Hill: Located at 1620 Tremont St, Boston, this grocery store is a 15-25 minute walk away from campus. For public transit options, take the Green Line-E Branch from the Northeastern University towards Heath Street to the Brigham Circle stop. Alternatively, you can take the 39 bus route from Northeastern University towards Forest Hills and get off at the stop at 677 Huntington Avenue.
Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Fenway: Located at 401 Park Dr, Boston, Bed, Bath, and Beyond is a 20-30 minute walk from campus. Your best bet in terms of public transit is to walk to the Hynes Convention Center station (10-15 minute walk from campus) and take the Green Line-D Branch outbound to Fenway station. Bed, Bath & Beyond is located right next to Fenway station.
South Bay Center: Located on 8 Allstate Rd, the South Bay Center is a large shopping complex with a Stop & Shop, Home Depot, Target, and Best Buy among other options. There is a bus route (#8, to Harbor Point via South Bay Center) that departs directly from Ruggles Station (located on campus) and stops right in front of the Target at the South Bay Center.
