Each week of the Summer Institute will be devoted to a particular theme, each with a corresponding field trip to allow participants to apply insights gained through our readings and discussion to particular sites in the Boston area.
Week One: Understanding Space and Place in the Humanities with field trip to Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts.
Week Two: Doing GeoHumanities with field trip to Deer Island.
Week Three: Space, Place, and the Digital Humanities with field trips to the Norman B. Leventhal Map Center of the Boston Public Library and The Black Heritage Trail.
