At SolSolution, our mission is to generate clean, renewable electricity and increase the quality of education in underprivileged schools. By going solar, schools are able to cut their electricity costs, without facing any upfront costs or having to worry about operations and maintenance of the solar panels. Moreover, by reinvesting our profits, SolSolution develops educational programming focused on STEM, solar, and green entrepreneurship for students at all of our partner schools. SolSolution’s emphasis on mathematics and science fills a gap in offerings, both within the classroom and in extracurricular programming. Finally, to reinforce the benefits for schools and the students they serve, SolSolution offers our Solar-Powered Schools Granting Program exclusively to low-income schools.
Our flagship educational offering is the Solar Ambassadors program, which will consist of workshops tailored to specific age groups and focus on engaging students in the process of their school going solar. The Solar Ambassadors will be a cohort of middle and high school students in each of our partner school. By educating students through applied STEM curriculum, SolSolution aims to develop a generation of environmentally-conscious youth with a passion for math and science, who are invested in a sustainable global future. The Solar Ambassadors will foster a culture of sustainability and advocate for change within their schools and their broader communities.
The Solar Ambassadors program is seeking dedicated, passionate college-age volunteers as Solar Ambassador Mentors. These volunteers will train and coach younger students through SolSolution’s solar workshops and presentations at our partner schools in the Greater Boston area. Volunteers should have a strong background in math and/or science, a passion for environmental sustainability, and an interest in engaging with youth.
Become a Solar Ambassadors Mentor to be part of lasting change within our schools and communities. Learn more about how you can get involved at www.sol-solution.org.
