The Piramal Foundation Fellowship for Sustainable Business is a two-year program that places bright and talented individuals into leadership positions within developing social businesses in India. The Fellowship begins with an orientation at the Indian School of Business where the fellows attend workshops, lectures, and discussions to form a crucial bond with other fellows. The fellows are then placed in locations across India. At periods during the two-year program, fellows meet up to attend workshops and share their experiences.
The Foundation provides mentorship, direction, feedback, and a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000 ($500). The selection criteria for the positions include a college degree, two year’s relevant work experience, strong values-driven determination, and the ability to apply business solutions to social challenges. Knowledge of the native language of the area is recommended, but not required. The fellows in this program gain crucial experience in the world of social business, and the partner organizations receive energetic and committed fellows to help them as they grow.
