Nanomedicine Academy Director nationally recognized for contributions to diversity
Nanomedicine Academy Director Srinivas Sridhar was recently awarded the 2016 Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Diversity Award for his outstanding contributions to improving gender and racial diversity in biomedical engineering. “I am honored to be recognized for our work in broadening participation and diversity through the national training programs organized by the Nanomedicine Academy,” said Sridhar. “These programs have trained hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students—many from under-represented communities—and led to institutional change in the form of new programs in nanomedicine.”
