INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER


The Information Systems Security Manager at KRI, LLC (ISSM) position provides an excellent and unique opportunity for an ISSM Professional to function in an academic and research driven environment. The ISSM provides direct support to classified program requirements and unclassified, controlled unclassified information (CUI) program. This is a very hands-on role which encompasses establishing and administering KRI classified accredited automated information systems and the KRI unclassified facility network. The position requires a logical and structured approach to troubleshooting and decision making with an emphasis on providing superior customer service and security.

The Information Systems Security Manager will serve as the point of contact for all local technical and Information Assurance (IA) matters for assigned systems and areas and will provide subject matter expertise to personnel at the KRI site as well as other Northeastern affiliates on the Burlington Campus, Boston campus, and satellite campuses as they are set up. The successful candidate will ensure KRI adherence to the guidance and requirements of the NISPOM (including Chapter 8), the DAAPM, DCID 6/3, ICD 503 and associated NIST publications, as well as customer/contract imposed specific IA directives.

This position is located on Northeastern University’s Innovation Campus at Burlington, MA with travel to the Boston campus, and travel elsewhere as satellite locations are brought onboard. The position is with KRI, LLC, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northeastern University, and will report to the KRI LLC FSO. Close partnership with, and support of the KRI Program Management Office for DoD contracts is required. Additionally, the position will work closely with the university Information Technology Systems Office and the university Compliance Office.

Research Technician -
Cold Spray Laboratory


We are in search of a CAD-CAM-machining technician to assist in daily operations of the Cold Spray Research Laboratory. The (CSRL) focuses on developing repair techniques and 3D additive manufacturing technology by a novel method that uses spraying of cold metal particles through a supersonic gas stream. The primary goal of the project is to develop procedures to repair damaged (worn and/or corroded) components, in order to restore parts to original geometrical (and functional) specifications.

The technician is expected to have a working knowledge of manual operation of lathes, mills, and machine shop tools. The technician will be expected to learn how to safely operate CSRL’s cold spray system. The employee will work with research scientists, engineers and students. The employee will also work with the lab manager to assist in the maintenance of the CSRL equipment and inventories, and assist with ordering supplies.

Position requires demonstrated experience with using computer aided design software, computer aided manufacturing equipment (milling machine and lathe), and manual machining. Candidates who work well on a team will be given preference.

• Education and/or Experience: A vocational degree (associate’s degree preferred) in metal machine shop operation with demonstrated education and experience in using computer aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technologies with milling machines and lathes.
• Machining Skills: Demonstrated operational experience of using computer aided milling machines and lathes and more conventional machine shop equipment.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering blueprints and specifications. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and to small groups.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to make judgment decisions based on specifications or technical requirements.
• Computer Skills: working level knowledge of computer aided design software packages.

The successful candidate will pioneer technology for our next generation of software and tools and will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of embedded software engineers, senior research engineers, PhDs, and Professors to define, validate, refine and implement in-house ML-AI many level neural networks for scalability and prototype development.
