Date: 10/16/2007
On October 16-18, 2007, the Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer held its second annual Investigators Meeting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, which was hosted by the University of North Carolina.
The meeting was attended by over 280 investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and students, featuring eight scientific sessions in the areas of Cancer Targeting Strategies, in vivo Nanodelivery Platforms, Nanotherapeutics, Clinical Applications of Quantum Dots, and over 110 poster presentations. Among the students attendees were Northeastern Universitys IGERT Nanomedicine Fellows: Paula Lampton and Sucharita Saha.
In addition to the technical presentations, the meeting featured tutorial sessions designed to bring researchers new to the field of cancer nanotechnology up to speed on topics outside of their normal areas of expertise.
As fellows of the nanomedicine group from Northeastern University, both Paula and Sucharita presented posters on their area of research. As a whole this meeting provided the opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and gain insights in the advancement of cancer nanotechnology research.
