Biography
I was born and raised in Queens, NY until moving out to Boston for college. I have not regretted the decision. I am having a great time while learning as much as I can from the amazing faculty here. I hope to pursue a career in research, solving medically relevant problems.
I am currently pursuing a problem in pharmaceutical science, the delivery of drugs and imaging agents to diseased areas in the body. Many cancer therapeutics and metals used in imaging are quite toxic to the body and can cause more harm than good. It is not always necessary to improve the pharmacological properties of a therapeutic molecule in order to increase effectiveness. Sometimes all it takes is getting the right thing to the right place at the right time. If drugs and imaging agents can be delivered to proper areas in the body (tumor sites or areas of infection), toxicity can be reduced and therapeutic value and contrast for imaging can increase.
