Abstract

During my 4 month IGERT internship, I spent time at the University of Macau (Macau, SAR China) and at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong, SAR China). As part of this international and interdisciplinary collaborative internship, we evaluated the ability of two types of nanoparticles to deliver short interfering RNA (siRNA) to mouse embryonic stem cells. Specific siRNA, when delivered inside a cell, down-regulates the expression of a specific gene.
