This talk will review sources of advice and funding for young companies with a special emphasis on the unique resources available to Boston-area academics interested in starting medical companies.

Michael K. Dempsey has worked in the field of medical devices for more than 25 years.  During this time, he invented or worked on products that have treated over twenty million people. He was a co-founder of Radianse, a venture-backed company that develops indoor positioning systems for hospitals. Prior to founding Radianse, Mike worked as a technical strategist for wireless solutions at Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies (now Philips Medical Systems).  He is currently the CEO and Principal of Caduceus Wireless, Inc and serves as both Entrepreneur in Residence and Director of the Accelerator Program at the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology.
