We are thrilled to announce that the Northeastern University Provost has recommended promotion to Associate Professor with tenure to SSEHRI core faculty Sara Wylie (pictured right), and SSEHRI affiliate faculty members Emily Zimmerman (pictured left) and Loretta Fernandez (pictured center). This is the last stage in the tenure process, as the Board of Trustees will formally approve it later this month.
Sara Wylie is jointly appointed in Sociology & Anthropology and Health Sciences, and does work on Community-Based Participatory Research, the oil and gas industry, and EDGI (Environmental Data and Governance Initiative) and has been an instrumental part of SSEHRI’s development from the beginning; Emily Zimmerman works in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and is a central part of SSEHRI’s affiliate research with CRECE (Children’s Environmental Health Center) and ECHO (mega-cohort of children’s cohorts; and Loretta Fernandez is jointly appointed in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Marine and Environmental Sciences and does incredible work with SSEHRI’s PFAS Project, most recently on water sampling at Pease Tradeport.
