We are excited to announce that our SSEHRI partners at Silent Spring Institute, Jennie Liss Ohayon and Robin Dodson, recently won a Toxics Use Reduction Institute Community Grant to collaborate with The Resilient Sisterhood Project on a project to reduce Black women’s exposures to toxic chemicals in personal care and cleaning products. The project will employ virtual workshops and a smartphone app to understand patterns in consumer product use among Black communities across Massachusetts. The findings will be translated into a social media campaign that documents exposure disparities among Black women, shares research-based strategies for reducing toxic exposures, and highlights stories from project participants.
