I am a graduate student in the Masters of Science in Computer Science program at Northeastern University. I received a Bachelor’s of Arts from the illustrious African and Afro-American Studies Department at Brandeis University where I found community and a language to articulate the intricacies of systemic racism and injustice. I served as president of the student body during undergrad and was proud to fight along peers in a 12-day occupation called #FordHall2015 (giving ode to a similar occupation for racial justice 46 years earlier- “Ford Hall 1969”) I have since spent the last three years in state government creating equitable legislation for all members of the Commonwealth. I hope to use the degree in computer science to help communities organize, to teach under resourced young people the power and depth of tech, and to build a more equitable society.
