What is Welcome Week?
It’s an annual fall tradition on our campus where the University welcomes all first-year students with an array of academic and social programs, special campus events, and a host of opportunities to explore and experience the wonders of NU and the exciting City of Boston.
When will I receive my Welcome Week Booklet?
All students living on-campus, will receive their program booklet when they arrive at their residence hall. Students living off-campus will receive their booklet at the Off-Campus Welcome Breakfast.
What are some of the events I may want to participate in?
The Welcome Week committee has planned a full schedule of events for the week. Some of the highlights are:
- Night at Target
- Presidents’ Convocation
- New Student BBQ
- First Pages program presentation by author
Is there a fee for any of these events?
If there will be a cost for events, we will let students know where and when to purchase tickets prior to their arrival on campus.
Are any of the events mandatory?
Yes, some events will be mandatory. Check back for further information.
Are there any events for parents and guests?
The Office of Parent Programs and Services is planning a special reception for NU families during move-in weekend. The reception will take place the following days:
Monday, August 31 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 3 11:00 -3:00 p.m. Friday, September 4 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
