LEAD: Linking Education and Diversity
The LEAD program helps Boston Public High School and METCO students with the college admission process and provides guidance during their freshman year of college. Created to develop one-on-one mentor relationships, LEAD mentors are current Northeastern students many who have attended a Boston Public School and who are trained to assist with the college process. LEAD is open to students who either attend a Boston Public School or those who live in Boston and participate in the METCO program.
LEAD provides workshops that are essential for success in the college admissions process. From completing an application to applying for financial aid and searching scholarships, workshop topics cover all of the essential components of the college search. LEAD mentors work with students individually in order to provide their guidance and expertise in these areas. Boston Public High School students will also receive advice and guidance
from admissions and financial aid professionals.
Who can participate?
Students who either attend a Boston Public High School or students who live in Boston and participate in the METCO program.

Fall Schedule
All LEAD Labs are held on Northeastern’s campus every Wednesday from 5pm-7pm. Beginning September 30, 2009- March 17, 2010. LEAD offers five (5) Saturday retreats that are held at key points throughout the application process that are three hours in length.
