Required Materials

The following list represents general requirements for all students. See high school students, transfer students, and international students for additional specific requirements.

  • Completed on-line Common Application and Northeastern University Supplement
  • $70 application fee
  • Secondary school transcripts including senior-year first quarter and midterm grades when available
  • Official SAT or ACT results
  • Guidance counselor recommendation (also referred to as Secondary School Report) and high school transcript can be submitted on-line through the Common Application. Instructions are on the Common Application website.
  • Teacher recommendation can be submitted on-line through the Common Application. Instructions are on the Common Application website.
  • Portfolio
  • Declaration of Finances form (international students only)
  • English-language proficiency test results, such as TOEFL or ELPT required (only for U.S. and non-U.S. citizens whose native language is not English or who were not instructed in English)
  • Transcripts from any college-level course work
