Remembering Ronald "Ten Toes" Takaki

It is sad to announce that Dr. Ronald Takaki passed away on the evening of May 26, 2009. Ron Takaki was one of the most preeminent scholars of our nation’s
diversity. He is the author of 11 books, most notably, Strangers from a Different Shore, and A Different
Mirror. Those who have read his work have been empowered by his knowledge and those who had the opportunity to hear him speak have been moved by his energetic and delightful personality.

The Asian American Center has had the honor to host him at the Center's opening ceremony in 2005 and again for a workshop in 2007. He was also granted an honorary doctorate from Northeastern University.

Ron's life and work inspired so many and will continue to make a huge impact in the Asian American community and beyond.
